    where to buy saddle stuff?

there are lots of places to get saddle hunting gear that are more economical than the "saddle hunting" industry promotes.

Alot of tree arbor places offer the best ropes and accessories.

There are also a number of people that 3D print accessories that are truly awesome.

Post them up here as you find them...

wespur.com is a great on...I SRT with this rope

DetailsPredator 11.4mm rope is a professional tree-climbing rope that is popular with saddle hunters, rec climbers, and canopy researchers. This listing is for climbing rope by the foot. Rope will be supplied in one continuous length, unless you instruct us to make multiple cuts in the 'comments' section at checkout. Please note WesSpur uses calibrated rope counters to measure the length of bulk rope, and manufacturer standards for rope measurement are plus or minus 5%. Iron Street Rope Splicing, our professional splicing service can add eyes to any spliceable or sewable rope.

here is another if you like to tinker and build your own stuff.

My first recommendation for anybody wanting Tethrd gear (or just starting the process of buying their saddle setup) is to go to CCR and support a site sponsor.

I was fortunate that Legdog has let me use his full kit - Tethrd saddle, platform, lineman’s, tether, carabiners, dump pouch, Ropeman and sticks (Out on a Limb Shikar.) It’s a premium setup.

I went down the YT rabbit hole two years ago and decided I wanted to try one sticking, but I didn’t want to spend a bunch of money on something I might not use (and haven’t until recently.) Since I had the Shikar sticks that was the first place I started my search. I found a guy that had modified a Shikar Mini - added a top double step, changed the versa button to a cam cleat, added a full bury amsteel rope and a 3 step aider from OOAL. It was light (1.88 lbs) and compact, which was a welcome change to clanking around the set of Shikar sticks.

I think I picked up a few things from EWO. I can’t remember if I bought my 8mm Canyon Elite and Madrock from there or if I had to source them elsewhere (the MR was hard to come by at that time.)

Rock and Arbor (RNA) has a huge selection of saddle hunting gear and climbing gear. Great prices as well. Click on the drop down and then saddle hunting.

Hang Free, Custom Gear Modifications (he seems to make everything saddle related, not just saddles), Genesis 3D Printing, Innovating The Outdoors, The Amsteel guy.

Theres tons of others that I am missing. I currently run 3 step aiders from Hangfree and I absolutely love the fact that they give the option for "mega aiders" with 3/16th Amsteel and 7" wide fuel line. If you run aiders with smaller fuel line, it tends to pinch the heck out of your foot if you go with more than 2 steps on an aider and 1/8th Amsteel.
