What piece of advice would you give to someone who wanted to buy one saddle and stick with that one?
It all comes down to personal preference and I can tell you that early on in my saddle hunting career, I just assumed that pain is part of the game. Sometimes that is true, like standing with your legs locked for hours on end and being a leaner, etc.

But just like buying a compound bow, every saddle has its quirks. I hate to say it, but you won't actually notice the differences much when you first start out. I found my sit drag to be more comfortable than my Tethrd Mantis.

My Dryad Drey was comfortable once at height, but trying to one stick in that thing was about like a monkey trying to fornicate a football...

For me personally, and keep in mind I hybrid hunt... but I find that an expandable pleat gives me the most options. 2 Panels are nice, especially considering that it supports your back much differently than a back band.

My most recent saddle is a CGM Cobra. The quality on it is awesome, but I love the fact that you can modify it however you so choose. I can also make it slim down more than my Tethrd Phantom. It has all sorts of adjustments, and even with only a handful of sits in it, I still find that I have a lot to learn.

There are also aftermarket things that you can purchase, like stuff from Hang Free, Genesis 3D Creations, and a ton of other saddle accessory companies that make a huge difference if you don't like what you have. Fortunately the resale market is pretty good on saddles.

Find what you want in a saddle, try to see one in person or borrow one, and then start narrowing down your decision. Just like buying a bow, the saddle itself is just the beginning because you have all sorts of accessories that one person may love, and another may hate. You won't know them til you try though!

Try several models and remember..... buy once, cry once. You can spend LOTS of money in the end trying to go with less expensive choices.

absolute truth! You can also spend 3 fortunes on gimmicks and nonsense too.

don’t be in a hurry to buy and try everything you can before you drop coin. Entry level stuff will be quickly replaced by quality if you go all in

Post a review when you get it. I’m in the market as well and suffering a bit of paralysis by analysis.

Will do. I ended up just picking one and going with it because the options and choices are dizzying.

now I’m on to researching sticks…
