    Homemade Hydration Drink

My wife makes this at least a couple times a year. Just made some for our annual Frio river trip. Usually makes it for dove hunting trips also. Works good and tastes great.
    1. 5 lbs. fresh oranges juiced
    2. 2 lbs. fresh lemons juiced
    3. 13 cups water
    4. 3/4 cup maple syrup
    5. 2 3/4 tsp. Himalayan Sea Salt
    Makes about 16-20 cups

I'll have to try it, the store bought are getting pricey!

            Sounds delicious.
            Might add/supplement some iodine salt.
Iodine is one of the main limiting nutrients/minerals for humans.

This sounds delicious. I can’t stand grocery store sports drinks, particularly if they’re artificially sweetened.

Good idea. We will add some iodized salt. Making some in a couple days for whitewing opener

                    Think they quit making it.

It’s so funny you mention this because when I first read the recipe (which sounds delicious on its own, by the way) I thought to myself, “A little bit of vodka, some Tajín on the rim… this could be pretty good.”

What do you reckon that batch cost today vs when you started this thread??

I do a lmnt packet on the days I sweat out my shirts after the morning walk (which is daily this time of year) & will drink one on the way out to the dove field / after the hunt if necessary.

I like this idea, but I would have to start buying citrus in bulk.

Around $20 for 7+ quarts. Not bad. $10 oranges, $6 lemons, $4 maple syrup
