What works best for spritzing brisket?

50/50 apple cider vinegar with beer? Is there a beer that works better for this purpose? If it matters I prefer using pecan wood to smoke with.

What would happen if apple juice was used?

Has anyone experimented with spritz recipes to see if one does more than just help keep the meat moist. Yes I do know about beef tallow if that comes up.

Had brisket once that was basted with only pure apple juice. It was delicious.

I usually use apple juice and apple cider vinegar, 2 to 1 ratio, more so to keep the meat moist than flavor but always comes out great

I have never spritzed a brisket but I'm not a pro either. I do put a water pan in the smoker for moisture. You can wrap it to keep it moist as well.

I use an even mix of beef stock, worchestershire, and red wine. Has the acidity form the worchestershire and red wine, and lots of deep flavors

It's all about the moisture no matter what liquid you use. Yes I am a pro. Don't over think it. The spritz is not going to make a big difference. Cook it right time and temp and that's the difference. Experiment and have fun with u th the "spritz"

I get a small little aluminum pan and fill it with apple beer… set it over the firebox in my Yoder and leave the lid closed

Yep.

OP if you just want to keep the bark moist just wrap it when you hit the stall, works better than spritzing and it'll cook faster.
