    That is what I thought.

I use Prego or Ragu chunky... or whatever.... first sauté onions, bell pepper and garlic. Most of the time I put in small meatballs made with Italian sausage. Maybe some mushrooms and on occasion w cut up an eggplant into 1/2” cubes or canned tomato chunks.

    Add more oregano, thyme, etc.

It is easy to make it better than regular sauce. Add what you like, don’t add it if not.

Authentic Italian? No but I think neither is spaghetti and meatballs. Is is better than out of a jar? You betcha.

I was entertaining a young lady a few years ago and she wanted homemade spaghetti. My response ... anything for you.

I made small meatballs with very fine chopped onions and garlic. I add peppers, onions and garlic to some Prego and probably some fresh mushrooms. Simmered it for a good while and she came over. After she ate she said... I really didn’t think you would make it from scratch but you did!

Like I said, anything for you......

      Pasta carbonara, using this recipe:

If you go into Houston, stop at Fabio's and pick up some fresh made pasta and use that. It's expensive but amazing (and cooks in 3 minutes).

        Appreciate all the replies.

Wanted to add a little flavor boost however I could since it is easy to make.

Try some of the high end sauces and "gravies" from HEB. I've found some really good ones that make me say mamma-mia.

Recently to change things up the last couple times I have made “spaghetti” I did it with fettuccini noodles instead of spaghetti noodles and really liked it.

I use a simple sauce recipe my mom always made...
Brown 1.5 lbs of ground beef
Add 1 pack of McCormick thick and zesty mix
                      1 can Campbell's tomato soup
Fill empty can with water and add
Simmer until noodles are ready and sauce thickens.

Always tastes good and my kids all love it.

I use Italian sausage and leave it in quarter size chunks, get a good jarred sauce, and add some garlic onion and oregano.

We add pepperoni diced up in our spaghetti, and of course venison.
