    Best Brisket Rub ?

Well, Santa brought me a gas smoker for Christmas. I've already smoked three briskets. All I put on them was olive oil, salt, and pepper. While they have all turned out great I'm yearning for something different. Has anyone ever had the pre-cooked Sadler Smoked Briskets. I know eating them is cheating but they're some of the best brisket I've ever tasted. I'm open to any and all suggestions from some of the TBH'ers........I know a lot of you are very experinced on the smoker.

I am not familier with a gas smoker. I have used electric smokers but not a gas smoker. Who makes it?

This is a rub I came up with 4 yrs ago that works for me. I buy all these spices at sams.

      1-28 0z canadian steak spice
      8-tbl spn spanish paprika
      1-tbl spn powdered garlic
      3-tbl spn steak dust
      1-tbl spn cayene pepper
      1-tbl spn cinnamon
      1-cup brown sugar
Rub on brisket and leave in ice chest ,"With Out Ice", for 8 hours then smoke it for 4 to 5 hours.Wrap in foil and cook untill ready, usually about 5 to 6 more hours. This will do about 4 briskets.

I have a brisket rub I make up with kosker salt, black pepper, wooster sauce, cayenne pepper, onion powder, garlic powder and a few others. It's pretty good until I found Texas BBQ Rub. Google it and get the Wild!

They have an original which is EXCELLENT on anything...I eat it on my eggs in the morning! Wild is great with brisket, chicken, and pork. They make a brisket rub that's supposed to be spicey....but I don't think it is. Not nearly as good as the Wild or the Original, in my opinion.

Just google Texas BBQ Rub. You will NOT be disappointed.

That's very similar to my smoker....mine is vertical. Try doing a pork shoulder!!!!! Impossible to screw up and you'll have sammiches for weeks!!!!

I also have a recipe for homemade BBQ sauce that goes perfect with just about anything if you're interested.

Fiesta brand brisket rub add some cracked red pepper and you have probably one of the best out there.

I would recommend SOTX's recipe. I've been using it for about six months and have no problem telling you it is good stuff!
