I got 6 or 7 of the small packs from west coast shaving early today, really wish I would of got the feathers now.

Depends on which razor I am using. My Merkur likes the feathers and my Parker (open comb) likes the 7 AM cheapies. Totally different blades that cut the same in different razors.

Just gotta try a bunch.

This. I only use red Israeli persona blades. UK packaging and only the ones from west coast shaving. Wrapped in translucent paper and I swear they are different. If you aren't OCD about wet shaving you aren't doing it right.

I tried the Feathers and they didn't work well for me. Just didn't like how they cut using my Merkur and with my face. They were for sure sharp, but not smooth for me at all. I do like the Perma Sharp Supers. Got them from Amazon. 100 blades for $20. They seem to be a good balance of being sharp and smooth.

Best advice is to try blades yourself. everyone has a preference and some blades may not be right for you...
Took a few tries to find the one I like that works with my face....

Not to hijack the thread, but i need a good recipe for shave soap. i've used Col. Conks and Presoso, but I am ready to try a new one. Any suggestions?

I got a razor set from fulldraw_589. I get my blades from amazon . I use gillet silver blues or feathers. They are very harsh blade but good for a new safety razor shaver .

Wilkinson Sword here. Amazon is the easiest and cheapest I've found.

My son and I both use safety razors. Our razors are cheap but we use a decent blade called Astra.
