    Candied Jalapenos

A buddy recently shared this with me so I figured I would pass it along.

1 gallon can of sliced jalapenos
    4lbs sugar
    1 large jar of pimentos
    3-4 tbs minced garlic

Pretty simple. I just layer the jalapenos and sugar until about half way up a large jar (big pickle jar works best). Once I get to the middle I pour in the pimentos and garlic and keep layering. Leave jar out on couter top for 4-5 days mixing well each day. On 5th day you should have a pretty thick syrup and these will be ready for jars. Hope you all enjoy!

For a little different twist to the old Thanksgiving snack tray, try pouring these over a block of cream cheese instead of the Chipotle Raspberry stuff from the store.

I used some I made, added pineapple to cut the heat a little and chopped them up and man it was awesome.

Pineapple sounds interesting, I'll have to try. I leave mine in the fridge for about 10 days and don't notice any heat.

Definitely over cream cheese and ritz crackers.

I have done this with a couple of different jugs with the best from the ones from Sams or Costco (less than $5 too). Heat varied with each but they all came out with much less heat.
We used some in the bacon wrapped doves this year and they were great. Milder and a little sweet. I bet they would be good with pork roast too.

My little bush doesn't have that many, but I want to make this. I'll try bringing the ratio down.

Smoked a small sow we trapped--the candied japs were most delicious with it. We buy them at HEB.

Stupid question, but do you pour the juice back into the jar?

gotcha. that explains why mine turned out a little too runny. still good though.
