    Baemgogi

Can't say I have had this dish before. Can't say it is even a real dish.

What I can tell you is that Baem is korean for "snake."

And "gogi" is the word at the end that denotes it is BBQ.

Marinating for a few hours before hitting a hot grill. Hopefully the weather cooperates.

My wife asked if I was going to cut it up... I was like "nope... the pic I take of it on the grill needs to leave no doubt of what it is!"

Don't overcook it. It'll dry out into shoe leather quick. Keep picking at it, a little under done won't hurt you, a little over done will make you regret going thru all that work.
        Snake is good

Thanks for the tip. I will be grilling it, so I will be sure to "hover" a little more than I normally would.

                  Well....

It actually tasted pretty good. I am pleased and happy I went through the trouble of cleaning it to try it.

The saying held true in my opinion "chicken tastes like rattle snake." It differed in texture as some parts reminded me of calamari. We ate it by cutting it into 5" sections and peeling the muscles out parallel to the spine similiar to how you would eat string cheese.

All in all, If I am going to bother killing a rattler again out in the field while hunting, I'll bag it up to cook again... even if it isnto weird out the inlaws when they visit.

As far as the marinade goes, we used the marinade from the venison bulgogi thread... Coach's Wife did a good job of replicating it with instructions on her site.

Next time try it deep fried like fish. Only way to really mess up rattler is by overcooking

Marinated and grilled was good. I used a thermometer to get it to 160. But I will try frying it next time as you suggest.

Spent some time in Korea. Lots of BETTER Food, IMHO

You do realize this isn't a Korean dish right?
