    Jerky Cook Time

I've always made jerky from whole meat but now I decided to get a jerky gun and use it. I've got it all in the dehydrator and now I need to know how long you guys usually cook it from ground meat out of a gun. I'm at 155*. Thanks!

I go 145° when using a jerky gun it can take anywhere from 8-12 hours.

Really? The instructions I was using said 70-120 minutes if on 200* and when I did whole muscle it took about 8-10 hours then but that was when the meat would be 1/4"-3/8" thick. I figured it be faster with the meat being all the same size and ground.

After shooting the jerky mix into the dehydrator, you'll dry at high or about 145 degrees F for 8-12 hours.

The product is ready when it's completely dry. Allow it to finish cooling and then store in an airtight container when it reaches room temperature.

This is what came with the gun it was a NESCO and I've made it twice, it took about 9 hours until it was right.

Ok perfect. I knew the time would be way different from what the card said in the box since I wasn't using an oven.

Never used a jerky gun. I have a cabelas jerky slicer. Works ok I guess. I cook my jerky in the traeger on smoke for about 5 hours. Depending on the sizes
