    Rookie Question

    I know the old doing of once the defrost meat you don't freeze it again (or at least that's how I was brought up)... Question... I'm wanting to make some chorizo and pan sausage over the weekend with a pig I shot, deboned and froze a few weeks ago. Is that out if te question b/c I already froze the meat? Am i stuck having to make links sausage and smoke them before I can refreeze for later use?

    You will be fine. I wait till deer season is over before I make sausage.

      When I take my meat to the processor it is usually frozen and deboned, they have to thaw it out, grind it, etc.... They they re-freeze it afterwards.

              A lot of the meat you get at the grocery store has been frozen and thawed, then you take it home and put it back in the freezer. No worries.
