One that was always popular when I used to brew was to take the store recipe for brown ale and replace one of the pounds of malt extract with two pounds of honey. It made a slightly lighter but much stronger honey brown ale. If I remember right it averaged about 7-7.5%.

I don't have a recipe for a Shiner Bock clone, but Austin Homebrew Supply sells their clone and it's got some good reviews. They will sell the kit as an Extract, Mini Mash, or All grain.

I did the Budweiser tour years ago...when we got to the sampling part they had a new beer - Ziegenbock

I asked the guy what it was like - "It's like Shiner without the kick"

            I'll have another Bud please

I'm not a Buddhist fan but Ziegenbock is some good stuff.

Dad and I like to experiment with wheat beers. We have had some really good luck so far. Still considering ourselves as rookies but everyone has really enjoyed our beer. Will try to post pics live next go around!

I haven't brewed a batch in a couple months but I'm feeling the need to get something new going. Usually I just stop by Stubby's here in Fort Worth and get one of their kits but might get something new.

Last run I did was a shiner clone that was high octane but flavor profile wasn't right. Am trying to find a Shiner Cheer recipe to get going.

I need to get out of this apt and into a house so I can finally switch to kegging
