One that was always popular when I used to brew was to take the store recipe for brown ale and replace one of the pounds of malt extract with two pounds of honey. It made a slightly lighter but much stronger honey brown ale. If I remember right it averaged about 7-7.5%.

I haven't brewed a batch in a couple months but I'm feeling the need to get something new going. Usually I just stop by Stubby's here in Fort Worth and get one of their kits but might get something new.
Last run I did was a shiner clone that was high octane but flavor profile wasn't right. Am trying to find a Shiner Cheer recipe to get going.
I need to get out of this apt and into a house so I can finally switch to kegging
