    Not your every day tamales.

    Had some squirrel meat in the freezer and decided to give it a go at tamales.

    First you have to start with a pinky swig of course.

    Got the meat cooking using carne asada seasoning. It work great with squirrel!

    While it was cooking, I got the masa out to get to room temp.

    Next get the corn husks to soaking.

    Got all the meat pulled from the bone.

    Spread some masa.

    Got kinda busy and forgot the finished product pics. But for the first time ever even trying tamales, they came out pretty good. Squirrel....... the other tamale meat!

                I've had tamales made from just about everything else, so why not squirrel? Suckers taste good too!

                            Ive always wanted to take a crack at venison tamales, may have to try these first.
