Cut into strips and boil in your favorite crab boil. Tastes like shrimp.

            Gar Balls

            Gar meat, cubed
            onion
            garlic
            celery
            cajun seasoning

mix all ingredients and grind. Roll into golf ball size balls, batter with seasoned fish fry and deep fry until golden brown.

Soak some in mustard, soak some in hot sauce (like Louisiana or whatever preferred), then take and roll in flower and fry. Dont mix the two different kinds, keep seperate. However you can dry in the same grease, just not at the same time. Good stuff!

fillet it, put it on a board on a fire, throw away the fillets and eat the board, tastes better that way

Soon as the water heats up I'm going with a guide on the Guadalupe delta. They're thick down there. Paddle the 4.3 miles from the bridge on 35 to the mouth and I promise you'll see 40+ alligators too.

This is what I've always heard. Never tried it though and if I hang one and they don't break off I cut the line. They have too many teeth for me to handle them.
