OK Kids... this is the taco soup recipe that everyone has been asking for...
Now you need to know that you can add whatever you want to it...
The original recipe had like 6 different kinds of beans in it... I'm not the biggest bean fan so I modified it to fit my tastes... ENJOY...
Taco Soup Falcon Style
1 lb or more ground meat (beef or venison work best)
1 medium onion (chopped however you want it)
1 packet Taco Seasoning
1 lg and 1 sm can petit diced tomatoes
1 can rotel
2 lg cans Ranch Style Beans
1 can Hominy (drained)
1 packet dry Ranch Dressing (Hidden Valley works best)
1 can chicken broth
1 can diced green chilis
1 box Jiffy cornbread mix (or your favorite cornbread mixture)
Shredded cheese
DIRECTIONS:
Brown meat and onion.
Put mixture in large pot (works best in a dutch oven).
Add taco seasoning. Mix well. Add tomatoes, rotel, hominy, ranch packet, green chilis and beans. Mix well.
Add chicken broth (maybe not the whole can). Mix well.
Simmer 20 minutes or until heated through.
WHILE SOUP IS SIMMERING…
Prepare cornbread according to directions. Add part of onion and cheese. Mix well
Bake cornbread according to directions. When it comes out of the oven, melt butter over the top. Cut into portions.
Serve either in soup or with soup.
