Cook them like you would in a stew and drop some cut up raw biscuit dough for rabbit and dumplings. Would even venture to guess there is a recipe in the recipes forum

Rabbit stew is the way to go. Mmmmm good. You can brown the cut up rabbit in a dutch oven or a big pot and then add onion, celery, carrots, bell pepper, and potatos. Make a rue and add some water and let it go for several hours. Good stuff.
If you do smoke it please let us know how it comes out. I just would think you would have to season it pretty good and let it smoke naked just long enough to get you some good smoke and some good color then wrap in it foil so it don't dry out too bad. Good luck.

I like my rabbit fried with gravy and mashed taters. I imagine it'd dry out pretty easily

We raised rabbits when I was growing up. Smoking them is a great way to cook them and really, really simple. We would use a simple Brinkman smoker with hickory or pecan chips for the smoke. Just rub the rabbit liberally (lay it on) with lemon pepper. It is quick, easy and tastes incredible!

Don't worry about drying out the rabbit if you use the Brinkman smoker with the water bowl in the bottom. It keeps everything nice and moist. I gotta go get me a rabbit!!

Many years ago a friend's father smoked a bunch of them. He did them like that all the time. From what I remember, he did not use any rub or other seasoning. He simply slow smoked them for a long time.

I only had them once but it was some of the best meat that I have ever eaten. From time to time I think about those smoked rabbits and how much I liked them. I have no clue as to the wood he used, the temp or how long he smoked them. I do know that I loved the results the one time that I was able to eat them.

We use smoked rabbit all the time in gumbo instead of chicken. Smoked rabbit along with fresh deer sausage and smoked sausage is awesome. We also use fresh unsmoked rabbit just smothered down in a black pot in gravy over rice.

Gut it. Season it, put some Italian dressing on it. On the grill brown it, once it's browned. Put it in a foil pan with butter onions and jalapeños. Wrap it and leave it on the grill till its done
