I got bored with the same old salsa and decided to try something new.
12 large tomatillos
3 serranos
5 hatch chiles mild or hot I used some of both
1 large white onion
1 bunch cilantro
2-3 Tablespoons sugar
4 cloves garlic
Goya Adobo seasoning to taste. 1/2teaspoon or so
I cooked the peppers on the grill the night before until blackened.
Boil tomatillos till soft. 5-10 min. Let cool.
Add everything to blender and blend. Put back in a pot and simmer on low for 10 min. Add a little water to thin if desired. Makes about 2 quarts. This is by far the best salsa verde I have ever had anywhere.
