    Crock Pot Pork Verde

I am trying something new today. It has probably been done before but I had this idea without reading about it plus most of the pork Verde I have had is spicier than I like.

Here is what I put in it:

1 family size package HEB seasoned pork fajita meat.

Sliced onion to taste (i used about 1/3 of a large yellow onion)

    Cilantro (also to taste preference)

2 jars of HEB tomatillo salsa.

About 2 cups of chicken broth but I am thinking I had only used 1 cup after everything I poured the broth in.

I put the pork in first, then the tomatillo sauce and broth, then the onions and cilantro and last I sprinkled the top with a little fajita seasoning and comino. With everything in the crock pot I stirred it around a bit to make sure all the meat was coated with the sauce and it all looks like a soup now.

I put it on low for 7 hours. Hopefully the pork will be falling apart like shredded pork when it is done.

I will let everybody know how it turns out.

It came out kind or runny but I may put some if the meat and liquid in a frying pan to reduce the liquid and have the flavors stay on the meat.

              Looks good!

A little corn starch would help thicken it up.

Glad you enjoyed it. I didn't think about putting it over cornbread, that sounds good.

It really is. We made some of the leftovers into enchiladas and those were pretty good too.
