I'm an old 7th; 11th; 3rd; SWC; and elsewhere guy. Just retired in 2015 after 36 years. Am at Sam now.
Retired 18E4VW8 out of 3rd GRP w/SWCS instructor time from ‘05-‘08.
There are quite a few old green hats in San Antone. If you Farsebook, I can pull you into Los Armadillos.

How much water or water kind of water level should I shoot for?
Outcome: Still undecided about recipe

I’m a lifetime member of 1-18 in Fayetteville but since I retired I haven’t been back. Nick Zambito and I are trying to resurrect the Austin chapter.

Borracho beans
I’ve been watching this recipe for years. I always said I would try it when I get an actual “bean pot”. I finally sourced one through a buddy from Mexico when his sister made a trip to visit family. He surprised me with it as a Christmas present. Now I’m ready!
Do I need to season it or do anything to it before the first batch of beans?
And how do I tell from the bottom that this is a real bean pot and not for decoration only?
Bottom of pot outside
Bottom of pot inside
