I use a 2 lb bag and a 16 oz bud. I like to let the beans soak up all the bud, then start the cooking.

If you're cooking more than a standard bag of pintos than I'd say add a little more.

I cooked a 4# bag and the list of ingredients seemed to be pretty right for it.
If a standard size bag is less than 4# I would like to know how much it weighs?
