I've made these a few times now .. 5 times to be exact, as i do 1lb at a time and used up the whole 5 lb bag. I can say they are better than any restaurant beans anywhere. It a full meal in itself and we usually eat on them for a few days ! i'll be making another batch later this week

Heb charro beans straight out of the can are dang hard to beat. Ive had much worse at alot of mexican restaurants.

whaaaat!!! made another batch last weekend, spent 2 hours cooking using all yummy fresh ingredients when i could have just cracked a can and get the same thing .... what a waste of time!
