Use any kind of meat you want, I like mine about 1/2 venison and 1/2 beef.
Tastes like mama use to make only it's a lot quicker and easier, I ain't shopping, chopping and dicing for an hour or more...
1-2 lbs venison or beef
2-3 tbs salt (to taste)
2 tbs minced onion (I keep the dried on hand, that's what makes this so easy!)
1 tbs minced garlic
2 cans "Veg-All" mixed vegetables
2 cans diced tomatoes
1-2 4 oz cans diced green chillies
1. Cut the meat into 1/2 inch or so cubes, if only using venison I'll brown it in a tbs or so of oil or lard, if adding beef you usually don't need to.
(Point here, NOTHING tastes like grandma use to make it anymore, I don't have a can with all my bacon and beef fat in it like she use to! Using lard to cook with instead of veggie oil seems to add a little flavor back to stuff.)
2. Cover with water, about an inch over the meat, add the onion and garlic and some of the salt.
Bring to a boil and let it roll for a while, creating some stock.
Add more salt, onion and garlic to taste, cook until the meat is tender.
3. Dump all the veggies into it and bring back to a boil, reduce and simmer for about 30 min.
4. Serve with cornbread and you got a feast!
