    Backstrap

    I know I'm going to get laughed at, but here goes. I love it fried, but my Doc said no more fried foods for me. Any good recipes other than on the grille? Wife wants a crock pot recipe. We both work all week and I was just wondering what we could put on low and cook all day.

      Backstrap is too tender to cook all day. It will turn to mush and fall apart.

      Trade the backstrap to a friend for some back leg (ham) meat. It will hold up better to the long cook time. Emeril Lagasse has a good venison stew recipe online.

        You can do a very nice roast. You can braise it. I love it with a Green Pepper Corn Sauce. Or cubed and done like stroganoff. Basically any dish you can do with Beef Loin... Venison Backstrap works. And Well!
