    meat slicer

going to make some homemade bacon over the holidays. can anyone recommend a decent meat slicer that doesn't break the bank (figure a 250-275 budget)?

just a suggestion ..... go to a local restaurant supply house that buys/sells various commercial rest. equipment. you can buy an industrial grade slicer for a great price.

I've found some good deals on used commercial units online but shipping is anywhere from 75-200 dollars. I'm out in the middle of nowhere so i think it's gonna have to be a unit i can pick up off the shelf on a trip to shreveport. So i was thinking about some of the chefs choice slicer's.

I bought the LEM slicer from Academy to slice my jerky. It works perfect and I'm sure it will work for you. It was about $80.

i looked at those but it looks like the tray is going to be too small to hold larger cuts like off a corned beef or pastrami.
