Mix a slice of whte bread (trim off crust) with about a table spoon of milk to make a paste, mix with a pound of meat, season to taste, make a dimple in middle of pattie about the size of a quarter, flip once (not mashing with spatula), grill to clear juices appear.
Mix 1:1 with the breakfast sausage or your choice.....add an egg and bread crumbs or crumbled up ritz or saltine crackers (like a meatloaf). You can use any flavor of crumbs you want, I like Italian crumbs. Season with salt/pepper, garlic pepper etc, then grill 'em up. Every time I mention a party to our friends, they beg for these burgers.
I made this without the cheese. It was surprisingly good. And, made some of Pioneer Woman's whisky cream sauce to go with it. I'm addicted to that stuff. I don't dice my onions as fine as what the recipe calls for. But, I've included a link below, it's really great with steaks, but I make it with "chopped steaks" too.

1 pound lean ground beef
1/2 cup oats
