Get a flat bottom dish that has about 1-2 inch high sides. Cut a tomato
into slices and place in dish. Then pour in just enough olive oil till the slices are covered. Add "chunks" of garlic gloves into the oil. Put in refrig for a few hours or longer. The oil does not compromise the tomato in any way. It seems to act as a vehicle to spread the "flavor" of the garlic through out the slices.
