Every year I get a couple of groups together made up of friends who normally don't get to hunt during the year for various reasons. Each year we look for a place to share some good times and maybe put a little pork in the freezer. This year we chose the Diamond C Ranch in Caddo, west of Mineral Wells. We'd hunted it years before and were honestly less than impressed but since Skylar has taken it over it DOES NOT disappoint. The first evening I sat in a stand I saw no less than 50 hogs.
I saw hogs everytime I went out and I mean some big (over 200#) pigs.I went two weekends in a row and had great success both times. Everyone had a blast and yes, I have lots of sausage being made at Kuby's as we speak. Everyone got numerous shots at hogs. We did some stalking and I even had success doing that
(that never happens for me)
Now, don't think this is a "gimme". These pigs know that they're being hunted and there were times that some guys would see nothing at there feeder. But, then you'd go back in the evening and be covered.
Skylar's buddy James was helping us out since Skylar is still under the weather and that boy worked his tail off putting us on hogs! James if you're reading this.. Thanks, you are the man! Skylar, keep up the great work and get some rest. We will be back next year. If you're looking for a great place to go hunt, this is it. Skylar also has some great looking rams on his place. Here's a pic with just 3 of the hogs we got while we were there.
