Been to Diamond C lately?

We are supposed to be going this weekend, and I would like to hear from anyone who's been there lately. I'm also wondering if it's going to be under water by time this weekend comes.

The only time I hunted there it rained quite a bit. It was a little tricky getting there on the dirt road but once there all was fine. The animals didn't seem to mind the rain.

I'll be there tomorrow. I've been trying to get a hold of someone up there just to check on the conditions because of all the rain, but I haven't heard back from anyone yet. I will report on Monday assuming we still get to hunt.

That area got hammered yesterday. And it's green as all get out. But he has a good population of animals and knows how to put people on them. Do you know how many hunters will be in camp?

There were a total of 7 hunters. It turned out to be a beautiful weekend. I got a lot of pics and story to put together and then I'll post up a review from my point of view. There was a lot of blood spilled this weekend.

I won't have everything ready to go before you leave tomorrow. Let me say this. The lodge is awesome, the animals are plenty, the help is superb and the tracking dog Mayze (sp) is unbelievable. My B-I-L and one of my best friends were with me, along with 4 other hunters. 2 from Georgia, and two from Texas. I know that 2 black bucks, and an Addix were taken by the other guys. Our group got 4 pigs total, and a Sika doe. I only have the pics that I took, so I'm waiting for the others to send me theirs, and I'll put together a slide show and a complete write up. In the mean-time here are a few pics.

Did you see many axis bucks while you were there?

LOL...my group all wanted an axis doe, or a fallow doe, or a sika doe. Only one of us saw any axis while on the stand, and they stayed about 80 yards out. One good axis and couple does, and a couple of bucks in early velvet. we saw a bunch leaving and coming in the front pasture. We saw a group of about 5 axis bucks Sunday morning going back to camp in his front pasture. Those dudes were all huge. But more $.
