Been their myself and seen lots of deer but no shooters. Buddy just got back Thanksgiving week after his 13 trip their and said he wasnt going back. Not going into detail but he hunted for 4 days and saw 5 deer the entire trip. I would suggest finding another spot myself.
Pm me if you want details.
We went 6 years in a row. Will never go back. Could be a really nice place but the guy running it isnt the friendliest guy in the world. You can see lots of deer but he went up on minimum size and price this past year. JMO
Interesting. I've been there three times, killed a doe each trip, flat missed a cull that had one antler looking like a pronghorn and an 8 that my arrow hit a branch just outside my blind.
It is a very tought hunt and IMO like any other day hunt bow operation. You're chances are slim as the deer are hunted very hard. They will all say they don't pressure the deer like rifle hunters. That's BS, when bow hunting you're on top of the deer and walking through their core area's all the time. A rifle hunter goes to the blind some 100 or so yards away may or may not fire a shot and rarely has to trail a deer very far. Once again IMO all Bowhunting day leases are heavily pressured and a good amount of luck is required. They don't make money off of kill fees they make it off of number of hunters.
On the last note, I've never known Kevin, Craig or Bob to be anything but friendly and helpful. They do have a job to do with an operation that's become very large with three different camps and guided hunters to work with.
I hunted there last five years. This year was our slowest year due to weather conditions.I saw over fifty deer on the three day hunt but nothing I wanted to take. However Seth my son killed another nice buck. He's a little luckier than most i will say.I think we could set his ground blind up in middle of I20 and a mature buck will come feed out in front about 15yrds.
I'd call bull**** on Kevin not being a good friendly person however he prolly isn't best with people that won't listen or know it alls.I'd hate to have his job to say the least. To also say guides hunt more than hunters would definately be a false statement. However he does offer guided hunts so therefore he takes his guided hunters hunting.I think for 650.00 or 850.00 is as fair a place as offered. However as I've menetioned in the past if there's a better deal for the money I wish someone would let me know so I could book a hunt at the better spot.
Opening wknd a hunter that paid 650.00 killed a160"+ deer. That's a hard bargain to beat. However the guy that killed this deer is a repeat customer that has harvested big deer in the past. This hunt isn't easy and isn't offered as an easy hunt. It's offered as an affordable oppurtunity at a trophy class whitetail.I'm nothing other than a friend of Kevin that developed from me hunting at HOT.
Also I may have a different outlook on thi splace because I'm from Louisiana and if I wanted to see fifty deer here I'd have to go to a zoo, lol.Guys my best advice is go there and listen to Kevin. The first year I went I saw 3 deer the first morning because I was hard headed.I thought hell no one can out scout or hunt me so after walking my entire pasture i had found best spot but also pushed all the deer out of my area. What I'm saying guys is if you go find feeder get off of it with wind in your face brush up good and let the deer come to your corn.
I hope this helps future hunters and ask Kevin where to hunt he will try and help you.

I never said that he was not friendly. Kevin seemed like a great guy and was very friendly.
To also say guides hunt more than hunters would definately be a false statement.
When we hunted at HOT every time the hunters hunted, so did the guides. I was there at the time and you were not. Everyone has different experiences. Have a good day...
