Need hog recommendations for a friend..

I have a buddy that is coming out to Texas about mid Jan. and will be there a couple months and wants to hunt hogs on either WMA land,private lease, or a day lease say within 50-100 miles of Rockport. He would prefer to spot & stock or hunt over corned roads verses over feeders. Real nice guy who just joined here after I pointed him in this direction but can't start a new post or PM yet.

Any real world help would be greatly appreciated, I'd like to see him have a good time and a successful hunt.

Thank you...I mostly want to make sure he is going to a good place not a 20 acre fenced in canned shoot. I'll check into the travel time.

Take him to the Double L. Ive been there a few times and shot a pig every sit. It's not a real big place but it has some great hunting and if your buddy can shoot, he should get some pork. Another choice might be DC wildlife I have never been there but the guy that runs it runs my lease and it says it over 3000 acres. Because it's river bottom it should be loaded up with pigs because of the drought and the fact that there is a tone of pigs in that area.

Thanks for the ideas fellas. I am the person Mike is asking for, thanks MikeW. Have hunted Texas many times but just not in the Rockport/Victoria areas. I love to hunt hogs! We do not have any here in IL so don't get the chance very often.

If you want to stay close double L is your place. Plus you can hunt them at night. Pop is a hoot to crack up with, the money for a hog hunt is very reasonable and trust me the hogs are there. I will be back in January
