    Hunting in March

I am looking to put together a hunt to come back down to the Quatro B at the end of March but before I book I wanted to get some feedback on hunting in Texas during that time of year. I would be coming down for exotics and hogs and was hoping some of you have hunted this time of year and could let me know what to expect. Also what do the exoctics do about dropping horns. Dont figure much would be different from Novemeber to March but I want to make sure I have thought through this before I drive 1200 miles!!

I went last year in March to Chambers and had a blast and the animals looked good to me. The axis looked good.

Quattro B is a very nice place. There are axis at all stages at anytime of year. March weather can still be cool but it's Texas be ready for warm days too.

Axis could be in any stage of development in March (shed, hard-horned, velvet, etc) depending on the particular ranch being hunted. Stag, Elk & fallow will most likely all have dropped antlers by then..... Horned critters (blackbuck, african game, etc), you'll be fine.

Fallow should be hard horned until April so that shouldn't be an issue but there is a good possibility they will be busted up this late in the year. Stag and Elk there is a good possibility they will have dropped their antlers by then. If you wait another month to month and a half a lot of places will have good numbers of Axis coming out of velvet.

If you can make it earlier I'll be down there first week of March and I'll be hunting at Double Arrow Bow Hunting and likely Three Fingers or Quatro B.
