    Success at Mesquite Bowhunting

This past weekend my brother, my dad (rpullin56), and myself headed out to Pearsall to try our luck out at Mesquite Bowhunting. We got down there about 1:30 Friday afternoon and after talking with Gerald and figuring out what we wanted to hunt, he took us on little tour of the ranch. Let me tell you this place is stocked full of game. On our tour we ran across some hogs, whitetail, Sika, Fallow, Blackbuck, and Watusi. After seeing that we all got excited and couldn't wait to get into the stand. The first night I had a nice Sika come in and had him at 35 yards. I wasn't real comfortable with the shot so I let him walk. THe next day Dad shot a nice, old Fallow buck and my brother and I both shot pigs, that we couldn't recover. The last day I sat in the same box blind and had plenty of animals and a real nice Axis buck at 15 yards. As I am about to let the G5 Stryker go he gets spooked by about 5 pigs and runs off never to be seen again. Had a few Blackbuck does come in, which I probably should have shot but passed instead.

All in all we had a blast and already planning another trip out next year. Gerald has great operation and he works hard to get you on some game. He knows the animals and their patterns, so listen to what he has to say and you will have success. I would highly reccomend this place and for the price it's hard to beat.

I will get some pics up of the Fallow when I get a chance, but here are some taken of a Red Deer and Catalina.
