They have some great stand setups. Every stand pretty much is over either a feeder or food plot or both and brushed in with lots of cover. Not sure how the food plots will be this year with the drought. I'd head back this year if I hadn't moved to San Antone. Abilene is a haul for a day lease for me. If you get a choice hunt the stand called "Bumps". It looks over a food plot and has 2 tripods. 1 is about 15' the other a 6'. I hunted that last year and saw a lot of deer, just couldnt get any in the shooting lanes.

just got back from BMR and had a great time and saw tons and tons of deer. 3 bucks were killed while i was there a big 7 and 2 nice 11 points. All 13 people there saw shooter bucks and 10 out of the 13 shot at shooter deer and either missed or made a poor shot. We killed a couple of does that was all I got a chance to draw on. But all in all it was a great trip and saw tons of deer cant wait to go back next season.

My dad and I hunted the ranch for 17 years or so up until this year. We used to lease the place before the owner turned it into a day operation. We had been building blinds, filling feeders, and plowing in exchange for hunting. The old hunting manager left after last season and this year it is being run by the ranch manager and a couple guys he hired. He isn't the greatest people person and we got fed up with it and quit during the summer along with everyone else that had been there last year. I pulled my 12 tripods off the place but they were getting more made and should have plenty of stands. We built all of the brush blinds on the place and they are great to hunt out of. Before we pretty much let you go wherever you wanted to go. When we decided to quit they were planning on doing a semi guided hunt where they would take you to the stand and pick you back up. I'm not sure how well that is going to work out since at that time there were only 2 guys that were gonna take people out and it takes a while to transport people all over the ranch since it is 4,410 acres. The animals are still there and the place has lots of potential. I'm just afraid things may go down hill this year due to who is running the show and how they are choosing to do things. Also none of the guys there now really know the ranch like the back of their hand. Chad the manager has now been there about 2 years total but his ranch hands have only been there 2-3 months. If anyone has any questions about the place or information on particular spots on the ranch that have been good in the past feel free to pm me.

I've hunted there the past couple of years and have never been disappointed, but that was with Rick and Tammy taking care of everything. Chad always seemed like a nice guy, but im not too sure if he knows the ranch like Rick does. Either way I wont say anything negative about him until i give it a try. Im planning on thanksgiving week, ill let everybody know how it goes once i experience the new things around the place.

the buck in my avitar is from there, thats the one im after havent been out there this year but have hunted out there three years now. Rick and tammy were awesome its a shame there gone, i use to pay 300 for a weekend of hunting now its a day. That seems steep but what can you do its more of a business now should turn in to every other hunting ranch in texas. $100 per inch, i will let you know how things go i plan to head out for the morning hunt tomorrow.
