DB Hunting Ranch

This is a ranch Between Oatmeal and Bertrum. Don't waste your time or money. This place is the type of place that gives day lease places a BAD Name. I booked a Cheap Hog hunt with them, and I got less than what I paid for. This place is not maintained at all. I had WASP nest in the stand. Trash all around the stands. No corn in the feeder. Gut piles at the cleaning station. Yes! More than one gut pile. Picked up late for the hunt. I guess better than never being pick up! It was all around a BAD BAD TIME. Animals looked like they were going to starve to death. DID NOT SEE A HOG while on the stand. Saw 4 on the way out of the CAGE. None were over 30lbs. I could go ON and ON.

If you have a hunt booked with them get your money back and spend a little more to go with a reputable operation. Danny is a DIRT BAG.

I have never had a problem there. Sorry for your bad luck. I know a place in Dripping Springs where you can kill two pigs of any size for $150. I killled two there in an evening last year. Both were over 100lbs. I saw about 50 all together. The guy has feeder lights. I hunted until midnight over a good feeder and had a blast.

I Apologize! I don't know if Danny is a Dirt Bag. He was paid $200 and I never even met the man.

Never been a problem for me out there and i have spent a lot more than $200 i guess it is a personal thing but i dont hold it over someones head for having a bad day. thay run a lot of people thru that place and 98% of them are happy . Danny has to be able to trust his help and i guess he needs to have a talk with this Guy.

I have hunted at DB a few times. Killed the Oryx bull in my avatar there. I do agree that the facilities and blinds are not well maintained, but aside from that had pretty good luck with hogs and exotics there. The skinning rack was nasty every time I went there. Guts and maggots both times.

I took a group of family to DB. While we did take the animals we were after, the place was so trashy that I doubt if I will return.

Sorry you had a bad experience. Danny has been good to deal with for me. I too mentioned that it needed a little cleaning up, but I just assumed it had been; that was last summer.

For a 100 bucks you cant expect alot.I have been a couple of times and had pretty good luck with the animals.If you wanna go spend a few bucks to pass some time during the off season then this isnt a bad place. Danny doesnt do ANYTHING in the way of maintaining it though.There were old nasty gut piles at the cleaning station ,1 working light and had to tromp through the jungle to find the water hose.Spiders pretty much took over the blinds so i just usually take a folding chair and sit under a shade tree.The feeders may or may not have corn.But one thing was pretty much for sure.....when that feeder went off if it had corn there would be about 20-40 pigs under it. Most were small but if you had patience and held out the big ones would move in later. There isnt a **** thing other than corn for these animals to eat and that is a sad operation to run. Even though these are hogs there still animals and there is several other types of animals out there as well. Not a stitch of grass anywhere.Those animals deserve more than that.Ohh yeah bring the seven dust or some Raid cause the fleas are gonna eat you alive. I have never seen so many bugs on a dead animal much less a live animal.

Forrest, you wouldnt catch me within 100 miles of that joint after what you guys went through! With all the fleas, ticks, etc that people found on animals I would think twice before eating anything.

While I am 100% for landowner rights, etc this guy is the reason the state MAY need some sort oversight group to keep an eye on high fence operations...something similar to the checking up they do on deer breeding facilities. If this place is as bare as the pics and experiences depict he is starving his animals to death and to me that is animal cruelty. You have a moral obligation to feed animals when you put up a high fence.
