Its been a LONG Time since I've been there; 1) Good /Very Good accomodations, 2) Good animals but we got taken around "Safari Style" and the Rams/Goats were coming up to the truck.

Booked a hunt for Thompson Temples - 9/24-25 not part of a group but wouldn't mind some TBH to share camp.

    Trying my new Crossbow.

Thompson Temple is near barksdale....down towards camp wood.Ben there many times.....just thinking of trying something different. You can definitely get on animals at TT.Like him well enough but some of the other folks we hunt with wanta little more than just rams.

HeloMed1, Last time I looked on their Site it was: www.texas-exotics.com. Great place for Kids and has a varity but don't do "Saferi Style" ... No very much of a challenge.

You will ride in the back of a truck, spot animals, wait till they get close to the truck,(they will walk up, similar to hungry cattle) and then be told to "pick one".

No Problem ... haztech3, We all do it from time to time...but what's good about this site is someone will know and correct it with good taste or as we say in the Military TACT (Ability to deal with others without creating any offense). I think you'll do good there but If I were to go back, I would insist on spot - and - stalk or a stand. It's kind of like Thompson Temple's ... can make it easy or put a little challenge. Good place to teach a Youngster Spot-and-Stalk Skills.

I took my son there for his 7th Birthday years ago. Chief put 6 hunters in the back of a truck, drove to a feeder that had 25 or 30 goats and rams under it. We were with in 30 yards of them. My son shot a big ram first off. They ran into the brush. Chief shook a coffee can with corn in it and they ran back out....This happened for all 6 hunters. Entire hunt time counting the ride to the feeder was 15 minutes.

Even at 7 my boy said "that was shooting, huh dad...not hunting?" I told him yes but we still had fun.
