Matt Family Orchard
Hey guys so the past 2 days I have hunted at the Matt Family Orchard. This was my first bowhunt ever
I got set up with this place through a couple other TBH'ers and was ready to have a good time. I went on sunday and Mr. Rick Matt showed me around to my 2 stands I was going to hunt in and I got a feel for the area. Now monday morning was my first hunt, I got there a bit late (6:30 ish) and saw 1 doe but she just walked on by. Now monday night I got there early, probably around 4 and started to wait. Around 5:55 I had 3 does start to wander in and it starts to rain but i just sat calmly.... at 6 the feeder goes off and these deer BOLT like they had never heard a feeder before. Well at 6:05 it starts to POUR
so I head out... I talk to Mr. Matt today and because of the rain and he allows me to try 1 more time because there were no other hunters out
. So I get there tonight at the same stand around 5ish, wind was blowing around 10-15 mph so needless to say the deer were all bedded down. Didn't get to take my first animal but boy i tell you when those does walked in monday night my heart was pounding!!
Mr. Matt was an awesome host, and I plan to go back next time I have some extra cash
Headed to Brushy Hill ranch in 3 weeks so i will be writing a review over their ranch later!!
