Has anybody hunted Ric Britton outfitters for mule deer in west Texas? How was the hunt and did you see very many deer?

I will be taking over the ranch out in Van Horn Ric was on.
It is about 15,000 acres. Hopefully in a couple years we can get the deer heard back up then start concentrating on genetics.
Hopefully with a little feed, protein, and not running 40 hunters through the place each year things will improve.

Yes after being a victim of "donating" a large ammount of money to Ric I have decided to improve the ranch myself after being offered it.
It really is some awsome country out there with plenty of water and good management minded ranches surrounding us. All it needs is a little push in the right direction.

Ronny,
I will start this year, we are only going to do 10 hunters total for the hole season.
Yes the hunting wont be the best this year but I still need some money to pay for the feed, improvements, etc.
I am trying to maybe get a group of guys who would want the place for the hole season, long term, to watch the ranch improve every year and reward themselves with larger deer each season.

I hunted with Ric Britton last year. Awesome deal if you're looking for a $1,000 spot to camp. He told us that he had somewhere around a 60% success rate in 2008. He was running the two camps next to us, and we talked to everyone. The collective 18 people shot 2 small mule deer and one large aoudad. We hunted very hard for 6 days, and saw very few deer. He did stop by our camp once, but we drove 18 miles to the nearest cell phone reception area and he never answered our call. I would highly recommend to NEVER do business with that dude.
