If you don't care how big they are then cheap day hunts are great and sounds like it's for you.... BUT you may go on 3 or 4 $600 hunts before you kill one and 99% of the time it will be much smaller then what you would kill at a trophy fee ranch... SO generally guys end up paying more for their animal by day hunting to kill a lesser animal....to each his own

roosterpt1 is right your better off booking and paying the 1500 hundred then going to a day lease and going 3-4 times and shooting a small blackbuck. most of them are over hunted and the animals are smart.

I hunted the Chambers ranch (Sabinal) about 10 yrs ago. Took a nice spotted Fallow and a couple of hogs . Have'nt been back since it changed owners, but it had basic amenities cabin, bbq pit and showers.

I went 2 years ago and had a blast, I harvested 2 pigs and a fallow. I have been over to Bar E, Mesquite bowhunting both locations, Brushy hill, and have booked Nov 8 4day safari hunt at Chambers sabinal and cant wait. If any TBH brothers want to join me space still available.

                        Roosterpt1,

You are definitely correct. This is the issue I try to bring up. I wasn't educated on extoics when I first went to Mesquite Bowhunting. I liked the price and that's all I cared about. I didn't know much about exotics and bowhunting for that matter.

These places are designed to make money on you not getting a Mature animal. They will have minimal amounts of exotic game, be overhunted, and small animals. On top of that, they will overstock with Hogs, so other animals will for the most part shy away from your area. It's smart, but not so good for the customer. The Rams are really young, most not even full curl.

I think, for the most part, we just want to get information out. If I had known, I would have kept that money and gone to a much better ranch. I will pay more, but get a Mature, big animal in return.

Crystal creek in Del Rio is well worth the trip. They have a good crop of animals every year. some of there Axis are 30+ inches. If you go hunting there and not see anything it is something you did. just listen to Scooter and do exactly what he sais and you will head home with either an animal or a load of storys about the ones that you missed.
