According to the drawing book, there's USFS antlerless permits available for this WMA for the 2023-2024 season. When they update the APH maps, we'll see if the timber company land has been included with the WMA like previous years.

You seem to be carrying the "everything's fine" flag. Just afraid the state taking Fairfield by eminent domain is going to have bad consequences for other leased properties by P&W...

Most of Moore Plantation is US Forest Service Land so that will continue to be available for public hunting. Now the timber company may decide to go with a private lease on their portion to make more money, but we can't control that. All we can do is comment to the state to try and lease/buy as much land as possible.

I remember about 20 years ago when there was a Unit 120 in Anderson County that was about 15,000 acres and TPWD leased it from Temple Inland. Temple decided to lease it to private interest for way more money than TPWD was paying.
