I applied for a Elk tag in New Mexico this year. I went through the guide draw to help my chance and also I wanted a fully guided 1 on 1 hunt. After speaking with several guides, I chose to go with San Juan River Outfitters & Livery Co. . I gave him a $300 deposit for the hunt with the understanding that it would be fully refunded if I was unsuccessful in the tag draw. He told me that & it is listed on his website. Well at the end of April I sent him a text asking if my refund with be issued back to my CC and he replied he would be mailing a check. At the end of June & end of July I sent him a text asking when I could expect to receive my refund, and he never replied. Luckily my CC company reverse the charges after I disputed them. He might be a good guide, I will never know, but this is what happened to me. I thought I would share my experience with this company
