Been a great first morning. Just passed up a nice 3.5 year 8 point. Not first day material. Warmer than I want it but I’m hunting so I ain’t mad.
10 deer. (5 bucks) 7 or 8 nilgai and a pack of hogs. Everyone has seen something.

Laguna Atascosa NWR 2022-23

Had a buck raking a tree directly behind me maybe 50-75 yards but the early north wind blew my sent right to him (wind was supposed to be SSE). He snorted maybe 30 to 35 times and ran off. Never got eyes on him but sounded huge thrashing that tree. Saw a giant bull at about 65 yards but never gave me a shot. Lots of first morning action so far!
