Looks like we got about 4.5” of rain out there last night…

Must have rained more close to the coast. I have 1.5" in my rain gauge in Harlingen. Should make riding a bike off of the caliche roads fun. . Oh well, tomorrow is going to be cool and dry. Everything should be moving well in the morning.

Lot of water where there wasn't before. I saw alot of Nilgai today. Folks...have a couple back up spots in mind.

So are we able to drive on the roads there to pick up game? Or only able to park where designated and have pack it out.

Inside the refuge we are only allowed to drive and park on and along County Road. If you see a gate closed, it means you only go past it on foot or bike. Driving in to pick up our kill (if that lucky/skilled) takes away much of the fun

I left Arroyo City at 6:45 this morning and it was clear skies and 55 degrees. Which is optimal for nilgai. I am expecting to see some cool pics today. As stated earlier, I'll be on the south side of the El Sauz this afternoon which borders the north side of unit 4. I'll let you guys know if they are up there.

I am just north of the north end of unit 4 and there are tons of nilgai up here. Don’t know if it’s worth the haul though. It’s pretty swampy out here.
