7x30 Waters with a 120gr Sierra GameKing. The 7x30 is a 30-30 case necked down to 7mm. I first saw the round in the 1980s. It used to be chambered in the Win 94. And is popular with the T/C Contender crowd. I've got a 23" bull barrel for Contenders. It shoots 1/2" groups at 100 with factory loads. I haven't had a chance to start reloading for it yet. As I've been trying to collect empty cases.

I don't get to rifle hunt much. Mostly with some slugguns when I do. And I usually take head or neck shots on does with those. One is good out to 225 yards on shoulder shots. But if they are 85 or less, it's the head or neck with the slug guns. With the rifle, the distance depends on the gun and what I can do with it.

The fish are biting, and there's hogs to be kill-t. Gotta go!
