I've been. 0% success rate. Not a single deer was harvested. I believe 9 hogs were shot. A handful recovered.

The hunt dates for that area are bogus though. They need to be the first week of October, especially considering its an archery hunt.

Rut is far over and long gone by that last week of November in that region.

Rifle hunters across the fence on private have already had weeks to take their pick.

Can be a fun hunt. Hopefully you'll have better conditions than I did while I was there. Light variable winds and very hot and dry.

The WMA manager there is an awesome guy though.

We went once. Out of our group, not a deer spotted, or hogs. Hunt dates were all messed up. You couldn’t pay us to go back to that swamp.

I live about 2 miles away. A lot will depend on how much rain we get before the hunt. Sometimes its dry, sometimes you need a boat. It's pretty low, so a lot of it holds water. They typically do the youth hunt right before the bow hunt, so it makes it a tough hunt for the bowhunters.

My son and I hunted there about three years ago. Neither of us got a deer but we saw several. They are there and you are allowed to bait. Would love to try again given the chance.

we went 5/6 years ago and they let us bait ended up seeing some 120-130"8pts had couple close calls but could never seal the deal
