Effective killing range of Xbow and Compound are very similar. If you're goal is to kill everything you see use a gun.

Exactly, plus you only get one shot with a xbow, takes too long to reload before they see you and run off, especially when stand hunting, with a compound its very possible to get another shot fairly quick also helps they are a whole lot quieter than an xbow, with a trad bow you can empty an entire quiver fast, know one guy who can do it real quick. If I'm ground blind hunting I can see the advantage of a xbow, but up in a tree or ladder stand I'll take a compound all day long.

Are we still talking about Granger hogs? Hunting at Granger is archery only. Do you drive from San Antonio just to walk around at Granger or do you drive that an hour and half to kill those hogs?

My son and I getting ready to leave Killeen. Still not sure which gate we will start from. I will have a radio on channel 2. Hope to see some some folks out there and gettin those hogs moving around.

Thats about all I ever get when I call em too... does it look like hes was shot with a bow or rifle? May try wilco sheriff's office and see what they say. Might have a different number for you to try.

They were heading my way so had to be nice. Don't know how far they're carrying it because PC parking lot had only birdwatchers unloading there.
