Haha! Sorry fellas my phone died that night and I never had the chance to follow up. Long story short Crod, Muzzy and I went out yesterday afternoon and got into a few. Crod pushed an area towards Muzzy and I. There was a lone boar that ran down the trail Muzzy was sitting on. Muzzy took a shot and connected on a 100 lber. He hit it a little back but seeing as there was good blood on the arrow we thought we would find him. Unfortunately we did not. There was almost no blood trail. Only small pools of blood when the hog would stop. We think we may have pushed him out of there. We gave him a little while to expire but it wasn't enough. Had a good hunt and hope to be back out soon. Looking forward to GRXH!

I'm looking for information on hunting pig/ deer in Burnet /Lk Buchanan area. I am wondering what thread to post the question too, or what information anyone here has?
Thanks.Last edited by PflugerB0w; 11-27-2014, 02:47 PM.

Carnage or Comehere, ring me at 943-two-9-two-five
I'll be en route to 6/7 shortly. With four of us we can do some really good pushes.

Ok fellas it started out that we were going to meet our new found friend Specialist Dylan Halbach who is in the army serving the 1-5 Calvary 2nd Brigade and is from Washington State and is stationed in Ft Hood until April
We were to meet at Duchess at 7:00 a.m. and quarter after 6:00 I get a call from Sleeping beauty (Carnage) that he just woke up, I told him they don't make enough sleep to help for his lack of beauty anyways back to the point, so I called Dylan and let him know that we would be running late in the mean time Carnage said that he saw Sneaky was going to head out so we contacted Sneaky and decided 4 is better that 3 for pushing.
We headed to # 6 and went east to Florida, worked the blood brush and had one small pig going just couldn't get it to come around, we worked our way back along the river to # 6 and made it back to the vehicles.
It was around 11:30 at this point and Sneaky was headed to his ranch. Really enjoyed getting to meet Sneaky and hunt with you, as we were departing Sneaky and Dylan exchanged number as Sneaky has offer to take Dylan on a hunt (your awesome Sneaky).
Carnage Dylan and I headed to the steps to cross over and head to the spot however the river is too high fellas (knee deep). So we headed to 95 bridge and was going to trek in however there were too many care there already so we decided to go back to # 7 and head into the wind (west).
Got to # 7 and headed west and started for the brush piles and no sooner did we come up on this brush pile I see Carnage looking thru his scope on his crossbow with Dylan by his side well the next ting I know I see the pig bust out of the brush not knowing that Carnage and Dylan both got a shot off. We found blood from the start as one arrow landed top back of the pig between the two hams, as Carnage and Dylan were following the blood I was tracking where the pig went from footprints and as we came up on another brush pile there he was just standing there, I thought Carnage was going to shoot, i thought Dylan was going to shoot, I said the hell with it if a pig is on all fours I'am going to shoot and I only had from the shoulder forward, I aimed right below the ear and squeezed the trigger and it dropped like a ton of bricks.
I told Carnage I would go back and get the equipment for quartering the pig and that he should take Dylan and see if the could locate the other small pig that busted out of the brush and low and behold the cam across another group of pigs (I think there were like two sows and a whole bunch of little ones and I am not sure if both Carnage and Dylan got shots off however Carnage told me when I got back that he shot and the pig bent his arrow and thru it back (he hit a rock) hehehe.
I got back with gear and we showed Dylan how to dress a hog and quarter in the field, once we got back Carnage took the back straps and the tenderloins and gave them to Dylan.
I think Dylan had a great experience yesterday. I look forward to Dylan getting his first hog before he is out of the Army in April.
We also met another fellow TBH at the river fishing and had a nice conversation with him and I do apologizes as I can't remember his name however he was local and knows TXUSNAVYCHIEF.
