Well here's the story fellas. Was gonna head out to the spot tonight but there was a few cars parked and not wanting to run over deer hunters I decided to hit below the Dam on the north side. Glad
I did cause after walking a long ways and not seeing anything I decided to sit for a bit. Then a group of about 10 came by with no shot. Then decided to sit and see if they came back out of the thicket and feed. As I did that I waited for about 10 minutes and another group came through at 15 yards. About 30 pigs of all sizes. I shot this one. Great blood trail and she only ran about 75 yards. Saw some great deer action down there also. If you have a permit for deer and don't have a stand down there then ur missing out!

So this area is still open to hog hunting while the deer hunters are out there? I keep getting conflicting information of when the hog hunting is closed for the drawn deer hunts.

They used to have tpwd lotto hunts, and it was closed then. They no longer have the lotto hunts since Granger is no longer a wma. Pig hunting is open year round.

Lake is never closed for deer hunting...got aph..hunt where u want, except for designated park areas, as for all the rooks on here myself and pig addict will be headed out sat morning around 8 am....bring your 2 way radios and your bows and we show yall some pigs...Chris good bbq hog bro..sounds like we need to meet up at the spillway....any granger vets are welcome...about 6 guys equals a dead pig...

Looks like I'll be driving kids to school in the morning. I could be there at 11:30 and meet up. Crod88, txnavycheif and I were talking about going pretty much exactly where you were and shot your pig. Maybe by the water treatment plant and walk fence from both ends. Two guys on each end, meeting in the middle would be a good hunt.
No pigs between 6 and 7. The point is always good.

Timing is not predictable. You just have to show up. Sometimes you see them sometimes you don't. So the more you go out there, more chances for you to see hogs.

My pet wild pig was that big when I caught him. He must be over 300 lbs now. He's a big baby, runs in circles like a dog. Comes when I whistle.
