My father and I while heading to our stands came across some guys walking out around 6a.m. with a deer rifle and spotlight. Claimed to be hog hunting. Didn't think to get license plate till too late.

Been out at primitive camp and had bullets coming wizzing by. Not shot from shot gun. It was a crazy sound. Grabbed my daughter and started yelling there are people over here. Never seen or heard anyone. There is good reason rifles are not allowed out there.

It was at upper parking lot of primitive boat ramp. We just happened to be there early. They were obviously planning to be gone before any legal hunters got there. Btw glad y'all didn't get hit

Call TPWD and let them know what you saw. A group of us hunting hogs last year ran into. Group of guys in all black going in right at dark claiming the same thing

That's a dilemma to be in because you would want to go find them and beat the **** out of them but you don't want to get shot either haha

Do us all a favor and call the GW next time man. Tons of that going on and most of them arent hog hunting they are out there after deer.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the COE rules are no concealed carry and no guns not used for hunting. But what if I open carry strapped to outside of my pack and the gun is used for protection from hunting large aggressive animals with a pointy stick on the ground, would this get a pass?

If you have a CHL, you can carry on Granger. Been there and done that... We ran into a GW, I let him know that I had CHL and the location of my pistol. He thanked me for informing him that I was carrying and he told us to have a good day.

But the assumption of the open carryin a long rifle will be the intent of using it... even if you have it strapped on your back or bag and state law allows it... I am with the other guys on here, if I see you with a long rifle on Granger, you can expect me to call the GW... There was even issues with guys hunting hogs with shotguns last fall. IMO, that is goin to ruin it for everyone...

I remember this story you told me, army corps of engineers says you cant on federal property but twpd says u can......park Rangers aren't going to ask u...and the game warden probably wouldn't either but it would be cool to let him know....better to ask for forgiveness in this scenario..imo....never know who or what could happen out there after dark...I talked with another hunter and he said there was some guy walking around with a duffel bag out there...not hunting...He said he was squirrel hunting and the guy just walked past and looked the other way...I am assuming looking for game cams.to pawn.....fyi
