Anybody ever parked at CP9? Saw it on the map and thought it might be a good alternative for getting to Comanche Bluff for a day trip.

Was unable to go out yesterday. Ended up going out this morning. Sure glad I did. Had an awesome time. Within the first hour of walking I looked up to my left and saw a doe standing 20 yards away looking behind her. Was not paying attention to me at all. I stood still as she took off as a big bruiser came in. He had his head down to the ground. Positive he never even glanced at me. My experience is minimal, but it was the biggest buck I have ever seen alive. He got to where the doe had been standing and he stopped and looked off into the woods for her. Put his head back down and continued the chase. Awesome moment being that close. Even though he was close it was hard to count all his points due to the thicket they were in. 8-10 points is my best guess. Was more than 6 for sure and they were thick. Looks a good bit like the shed I found a good while later. Thats a 2 Liter Sprite bottle by the way, not a 12 oz. Moments later a 6 point came in coming from the same direction the other two had. Once again not paying any attention to me. 100 yards down the trail a real skinny 4 point was doing the same.
This ended up being the theme of my trip. I would have the same experience with two other bucks later on. One of them I spooked on purpose as he was coming right at me with his head down. He got to about 15 yards before I decided that was close enough standing out in the open.
Saw plenty of hog sign, but no hogs. That part was a little frustrating. Ran into a few other hunters who had also seen some bucks and does, but no hogs. One of them said his dad is on here, but I forgot to ask for his screen name. It will probably be mid December before I head back out. Hopefully the hogs have started to move more during the day by then.
