Man, now im blamed for this. So now Im some tall guy with a son? Before that i was some kid messing around on the net? And before that i was some guy starting fires? Whats next.. i was the guy who organized the helicopter hunt.. and was also in the helicopter and shooting out of the truck with the AR at the same time!

You guys scare me... when i hunter Granger again its only going to be at night. I hear the hunting is better then anyhow.

I know folks confirmed that blaze orange is required during the day, but do i need to wear it at night?

Heck Viper... i didnt realize you cant hunt at night out there. I know hunting private land isnt a problem at night as long as your arent hunting deer. Thanks for the heads up.

So i did some thinking about folks calling me a "poacher," here is what i have come up with...

"Poachers - Poaching is the illegal hunting, fishing, trapping, or eating of wild plants or animals contrary to local and international conservation and wildlife management laws"

By this definition, someone using a rifle in a bow only WMA is a poacher!! What a wake up call! I am going to get myself a bow next paycheck... I would like to get a crossbow but looks like they are just as illegal as a rifle.

But then i started thinking again about blaze orange... and if members on this board are not wearing blaze oranage (which is illegal) and they take a hog... then they (by definiation) are poachers! If you think about it, it makes sense... by not wearing blaze orange, you blend in better than someone who is, so you have an advantage.

Just curious - does anyone ever try for hogs out at #2?

Granger WMA is an ARCHERY AND CROSSBOW ONLY for hogs.

Now for the blaze orange part.... there is somewhat of a misconception on the color part of it. the blaze orange is used to tell a hunter from a tree. lol the use of camo is to blend in to the enviroment and not be silhouetted. (A silhouette is the image of a person, an object or scene consisting of the outline and a featureless interior, with the silhouetted object usually being black.) its off wiki so i know that def is true

you dont wanna stand out and be an outline, the animals will notice.

that being said pigs have bad vision, but super hearing and a sense of smell. so the orange is for humans not much for the animals.

now most of this is from me and might not be true(im 99% sure it is true) others please correct me if im wrong.

#2 is good for pigs? I've been there dove hunting a few times but don't remember it looking too promising as a pig hangout

Austinhunter - just because you do not have your name posted under your profile, dont think that you are anonymous. It is very east to find your IP address, so just watch out what you say about what you are going to do, especially illegal activity. Again, dont come to Granger, or at least let us know what you drive, so we can avoid the hunting grounds at all costs.

Stay in Austin and keep it weird down there. We dont need you up here.
